Claude Desktop App Gains Built-In Browser, Letting AI Navigate the Web Independently Without Extensions

Claude's desktop app now includes a built-in browser that lets the AI independently navigate websites, fill forms, and pull data without extensions, rolling out this week to Pro, Max, and Team plan users on macOS, Windows, and Linux — while keeping Claude completely isolated from users' personal browsing data.

• Claude Cowork now features a built-in browser in the desktop app, allowing Claude to independently navigate websites, fill forms, click links, and pull data from dashboards without requiring any extensions or setup from the user.
• The built-in browser is completely separate from the user's personal browser, meaning Claude cannot access personal tabs, bookmarks, or passwords, and users can selectively import logins from Chrome, Edge, or Firefox while banking and single sign-on sites are excluded by default.
• The feature is rolling out this week to Pro, Max, and Team plan users on macOS, Windows, and Linux desktop apps, with Enterprise admins able to enable it immediately through Organization settings, and it works alongside the existing Claude in Chrome extension as an alternative option.
